Very cool blog with a lot of interesting and rare music! I’m a huge Slayer fan when it comes to the 80′s stuff.
Is there any chance to get the rehearsal again – Hell Awaits is my favourite Slayer record for all time. I already got a very bad rip of the rehearsal some years ago…so I’m very intersted in your version.
Would be awesome….thanks in advance

MAJOR Thanks for sharing, listened to it a few days ago.

I bought “Show No Mercy” in the summer or maybe September of 1984 because of the band name, cover art, photos, and song titles. I don’t remember if I had heard of the band name before but had the feeling it would be really cool like Venom.
Somehow I totally missed out when Hell Awaits came out, but I knew the 2 EPs when RIB was released. Eventually found Hell Awaits for sale in 1987 I think and was let down, mostly by what you said, muddy production.
Reh tapes like this you posted and live bootleg albums show how great the riffing was on it.

Soo good it really hurts!!!!

Slayer were in 1984 the most evil and explosive metal band I had ever heard in my life.When I bought the “Show No Mercy”-LP in the spring of 1984 my life was completely destroyed.Especially by the track “The Final Command”; pure evil and satanic speed/thrash metal that Satan himself could have made.

And now to the tragic death of Jeff Hanneman.:-(He was THE destructive and dark force in Slayer-especially live.When Gary Holt took over as guitarist in 2010 the band started to sound too melodic in my ears.No other guitarist in the world can ever replace a man like Jeff Hanneman.Not a chance!
