Out of the blue, a video of my old band FEAR OF GOD’s second last show surfaces. I didn’t know this existed until recently and now, I’m watching it the first time myself. What can I say. The soundboard recording of this show was released on the “As Statues Fell” Mini-LP and I always felt that the band was at its climax around that time. Dark, brutal and aggressive, though the kids filming were having a good laugh, obviously.
You can download the entire show here.
Check out the site, it has more videos recorded live in Switzerland, from SAINT VITUS, SLAYER, NAPALM DEATH, YOUNG GODS or MORBID ANGEL to GORE and DOUGHBOYS etc. Great stuff!

Shit, Gore was one of the most intense bands I’ve seen.. In the dead of winter when the heater broke down in the club and you could see your breath hanging in the air. The music sliced right through the freezing cold and carved a hole straight in your soul. Nice find.

Can’t see Dave in the dark. Tschösi looks great. Didn’t know he screamed so much cause you can’t hear his MESSIAH voice in the recordings. anyway great video.

great video. saw you guys live in belgium in 2002 (reunion). it was good but nowhere near this. you should reform with the original lineup.

Side B of the LP? The B side honestly isn’t a good recording. I always felt the session that became the live 7″ was phenomenal as hell.
Still, always a neck and neck tie with Lee/Bill ND for me!

Hooray for the Geuggises!
Seanocide: I’m sure it was the A-side of ‘Statues’ that was recorded in Fribourg.

Hi Erich, if your interested I have edited and synchronized the Fribourg video and the Zeitgeist copy of the soundboard. I’d like to send you a copy.

The mini-lp consists of two live sides: Fribourg (Soundboard) and Hanau (audience recording).
