Is it a political act to call the city Biel instead of Bienne or some hyphenated version of the two? Since I like the politics of time and because the French brought us the revolutionary calendar, I might prefer Bienne. In the two-person "kommune" where I live with my girlfriend, the year is now 139. In tribute to Crash Course, I am switching over to Biel Mean Time.
