Well done, in the late 70's any damned German AC/DC supporter liked to beat up every single Punk in general, especially when they were strength in numbers.
I know, it has nothing to do with the skills of the band, ...but umh, it wasn't fun, when you was small Punk kid and 10 big bodybuilding guys with moustaches crossing your way...

AC/DC will be playing Oklahoma City soon but tickets are over $100 so I doubt I'll be seeing them unless I can score some free tix (could happen..). How much do they get paid per show?

Interesting discussion...here in Australia during the 80's AC/DC were always lumped in with the 'Aussie yobbo' phenomenon ala 'pub rock' (singlets & beer) - a sea of mullets is a good description! While I always appreciated the grunt & power behind their music, the boogie-type elements always made me cringe & the whole 'wine, women & song' theme got tired pretty early....but then again they were a rock band, & they were the themes of the day. Fast forward to AC/DC now & Brian Jonson bashing out the same themes in schoolboy humour & innuendo is just embarrasing...yeccchhh! But back to their place in history, funny how here they were basically ignored here cos they were just that 'pisshead yobbo rock band', & then I find out that their early gigs in the UK were attended by members of Damned, Pistols & they have been cited as an influence on some of the early UK punk bands...Bon Scott in a dress is pushing the boundaries of the times pretty far also!

I bought AC/DCs High Voltage and Let There Be Rock when they came out but never liked them as a whole and I wanted all the tracks to be as great as Let There Be Rock.

..still think that after Bon drank himself to death, the band should have changed it's name. It's just not the same band without Bon (ex. Dead Kennedys without Jello) Although Brian J. on Back In Black (and the tune Thunderstruck) really shows he is a one of a kind incredible singer.

As far as the fans, there must be a difference between European and American ACDC fans. "A sea of mullets" is a pretty good description. No better or worse though than any other group of fans. I wonder if anyone ever gobbed on ACDC?

AC/DC had the best fans back in the 80s if you aks me, no rednecks, no jocks no macho bullshit attitude guys. AC/DC and Thin Lizzy were always, and probably still is, no 1 for those guys.

I was referring to the fans. I'd say the odds of a Punk-looking guy circa 1985 getting hassled at an AC/DC show were significantly greater than at a Hardcore show! You'd be a mohawk lost in a sea of mullets.
