While I always appreciated the grunt & power behind their music, the boogie-type elements always made me cringe & the whole 'wine, women & song' theme got tired pretty early....but then again they were a rock band, & they were the themes of the day. Fast forward to AC/DC now & Brian Jonson bashing out the same themes in schoolboy humour & innuendo is just embarrasing...yeccchhh! But back to their place in history, funny how here they were basically ignored here cos they were just that 'pisshead yobbo rock band', & then I find out that their early gigs in the UK were attended by members of Damned, Pistols & they have been cited as an influence on some of the early UK punk bands...Bon Scott in a dress is pushing the boundaries of the times pretty far also!
