From Berlin came CRAPSCRAPERS – the german WRETCHED. Abrassive, primitive and maybe not the elaboratest piece of plastic ever released, but when I came home from work today, I had this on my mind and I knew, it would be the perfect thing to kick start the weekend. I used to play this record up and down and at least one song was on every private compilation tape I made. At some point in time, I must have gotten tired of it, but now, that I just played and worked on it, I enjoyed the whole thing pretty much. Funny how you can’t even make out in which language the singer sings. Lovely! And a song which starts off with a dry “Prost!” (“cheers), can’t be bad, cannit.
Recorded in 2 hrs., as it says on the cover and I’m afraid I can’t tell you much more about CRAPSCRAPERS. To my knowledge, this is the only record they ever put out. I think Jens of SM-70 / PINK FLAMINGOS (who loved Crapscrapers!) once played me a demo tape which sounded really good, but I’m not sure anymore. Maybe somebody out there has this demo? You could order this EP from one of the band members directly and it costed almost nothing, it was so cheap. I once had a dozen or two of those lying around, but they’re long gone.

Wow, thanks for posting this totally overlooked gem, sold this one ages ago… Great shitty lo-fi stuff from the year when both “shitty” and “lo-fi” were crossed off the Punk list, and replaced by “self-righteous” and “boring”… BTW, I remember there was something weird about the cutting of this record, the awful noise at the end of Abschuss looked like some kind of huge zig-zag groove that probably ruined a bunch of styluses (styli?).

They had a song or two on the Kultureshock Attacke vol. 1 compilation LP with Circle of Sig-Tiu and Ani-X- Vax etc.

Wretched are “better” – more powerful. Crapscrapers might remind other band that are forgotten (for one or more good reason).

I put the demo up on DN almost 2 years ago Erich!

Oh yeah, Kulturschock Attack – remember the comp, but I don’t think I ever had it.

Yummy fucking excellent. Not as devatating as Vorkreigsphase but still pretty intense. I love the way they did it in the 80s.

I have worked as a crap scraper. Not that cool. Great band, though.

Not as good as Wretched of cause but still really powerful. The songs would benefit beeing longer, now the fun just starts and stops to soon.
