I will admit that I used to be deeper into that particular style of Hardcore Punk when I was younger. I will also admit that this second release by Japan’s mighty KURO still impresses me. The overall brutality and man, the vocals – the vocals. Fucking awesome, really. And if you have ever held the original thing in your hands, you will know just how wonderful the thick 8″ cardboard cover looks & feels. They must have paid a fortune for its production.
Couldn’t pick a favourite track here, it’s all on the same level. Well, maybe it’s “No more no” with the over the top screaming that impresses me most. “Human Gas” is one of the few songs dedicated entirely to the results of too much beer & falafel. Many have moaned the thin and distorted sound on “Who the Helpless” – I’d say it’s just perfect and the atmosphere KURO create with it, is just what I need right now.
If somebody has transcriptions of the two titles in japanese, post them in the comments section, please.

PS: Sorry, again the insert was too large to fit on my scanner and again, I was too tired to photoshop the pieces together. Hint hint nudge nudge.

I always wanted to hear Kuro so here we go. Ok here’s the first track. 50 seconds in and I’m bored. Great vocals though. Next. What the fuck? Am I listening to a slow downed track from the Why? 12″? Ok I get the singer is upset cause his mother told him to stop playing with himself. But I listened to the whole track! Here’s Body. The Pistol song? Nope it wasn’t. Not bad. A good track at last. Fuck he’s ANGRY. His mother couldn’t let go of his nuts. Who the helpless? BORING. Next. Selfish Cow. Mu mu time to milk the d-clones. Next. Great track. Really! Here’s the last track No More No. I could agree on that.

Phew, I was expecting a godforsaken rant …. but I do spot a bit, a tiny bit of enjoyment from THE anti-crust man, Peter. Mission accomplished. From here on, we can drag him deep & deeper into crustism (at least it’s not sped up elvis, haha).

I’ve always been afraid of fascism. Everything that try make things commodified. That’s why I don’t like crust and d-clones. It’s fascist music.

Not bad this time Erich, you’re one step closer to post Chaotic Dischord
. As for transcriptions:
1. X / 絶望 (X / Despair)
6. ãŠå‰ã / OiMaeda (But you / OiMaeda)

Thanks anonymous. And no – still no Chaotic Dischord in sight. Somebody posted a download link somewhere in the comments though.

The “True Punk & Metal” blog got me into Japanese hardcore and this is a worthy addition, so thanks!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention – I actually have an 8″ record by Japanese noise-monger Masonna. Sigh, one of these days I’ll rip all my noise vinyl to disc…

As I wrote last week on my blog – one of the best Japanese punk/HC records ever – and that is saying a lot for there’s so much great music from that country. I mean we’re talking Victims of a bombraid 7″ level of legendary shit.

is the original of this a hard vinyl pressing or a flexi???
[Reply]
Hard vinyl, as you can see.

this is one of the best ever records in my collection!!! just some fuckin japanese crude brutality. there are some vids on utube for better picture how crazy these guys were, but …
from a good friend of mine(cca 40 y.o. punk) i heard they belonged to yakuza… therefore its not so easy to find some info about Kuro… the same for G.I.S.M.
but i really dont know how truthfull this info might be

Kuro were never yakuza tho they had fights with japanese bikers & “hot rod gangs” (BOSOZOKU).They never printed their lyrics. The records are great but for me their two videos are amazing and the best representation of Kuro.1984.8.15 GIG and
HISTORY OF 90’S LIVE. R.I.P Morikawa and Hide.
