Yeah? Yeah!!!!!!!
Quote of the moment:
«What strikes me is the fact that in our society, art has become something which is related only to objects and not to individuals, or to life. That art is something which is specialized or which is done by experts who are artists. But couldn't everyone's life become a work of art? Why should the lamp or the house be an art object, but not our life?» (Michel Foucault)On heavy rotation:
An album full of diamonds and diamonds.Movie of the moment:
«Midnight in Paris» is not only the best Woody Allen movie in quite some time (although I must say that I loved «Matchpoint» for its cold bourgeois-brutality) – it can also be seen as a witty comment on the current retro-trend. And it's pure cinematic joy!Book of the moment:
It's a paradox: Blogs like this one disenchant the music that enchants their makers. The obscure, the magic, the mystery that was an integral part of popular music until a few years ago, has now been shattered completely. The internet and all its effect has torn down the boundary that used to separate the past from the present in the cultural production: Everything is only a few mouseclicks away, from music to art, fashion, design - you name it. The downside: Popular culture finally eats itself, is obsessed with its own past and thus creates nothing new. This is one of the main thesis of renowned music journalist Simon Reynolds' in his excellent book «Retromania. Pop culture's addiction to its own past». Reynold goes one step further and makes an interesting point saying that Punk itself was a reactionary cultural movement, dreaming of a world "without the Sgt Peppers album". A sometimes pretty academic, well written, resourceful and very much recommended book!Blogroll

I had just looking for some Paul Chain releases, including this one! What a stroke of luck! Thanks, Erich.
While we’re on the subject, I wonder if I may ask: Which of his solo works are the best/would people recommend?
[Reply]
I had a great lazy morning with good coffee, a great afternoon with a good walk in the bright fall air and now this. A pretty much perfect day.

@ What’s the Truth?: You better not ask me, cause I find everything PC ever released great and essential, even his latest work.
Sounds pretty good indeed, Pär!

Wow! What happened here?? The A side sounded like a really bad Scorpions song and the B side…holy shit, that was pure Enya sounding torture to me. I will do you a favor and blow it up. Just send it to me. I will film the ending of this really bad record…kaboom!
[Reply]
Scorpions and Enya, hahaha. Yeah, Jay – totally. Didn’t you hear a bit of Abba and Michael Jackson too?
[Reply]
Man I really really want the Scorpions album which sounds like Paul chain ……
[Reply]
I played it again. The wife yelled, “what the fuck is that crap?” I am telling you…this is really bad. It reminds me of the Scorpions playing really slow. It is really, really, bad. Please send it to me, so I may dispose of it properly. I will blow it up so damn good that some of the pieces may end up in Switzerland. Kabooooom!!!!

Erich…Please , stop posting P.C. stuff , or you’ll be responsible for hundreds of teen suicides…
[Reply]
Listen to him, please! I beg you. Please, Erich…for all humanity, please stop posting P.C records!!! I will help you rid the world of that crap. Send me the records and I will dispose of them properly. Nothing an AK47 can’t take care of!!!! The world will be a much safer and better place.

“stop posting P.C. stuff , or you’ll be responsible for hundreds of teen suicides”
another good reason to continue posting mr Chain. Also, the world need more Scorpions.
[Reply]
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease! We beg of you. Have a heart. No more P.C. records!!! I think after the singer for the Scorpions dies(which should be soon), they can get P.C. to fill in for him on their next huge tour.
[Reply]
Congratulations Jay. You just made me decide that I will rip and post the entire Paul Chain collection of mine in the near future.

First off, killer site. Thank you (x1000) for this. Now, onto Mr. Chain’s music. I am new to PC, and that’s thanks to you. Now I LOVE to hear VIOLENCE OF THE SUN when it spins up on my Zune. Killer tune. Gotta have more…
