Blog of the Month: METAL INQUISITION. Surreal.

This blog proves it: Heavy Metal Fans are Punks with brains. There’s a lot to read there (start with the investigative report on Heavy Metal Real Estate. It’s surreal). And it does not only make my sarcasm sound like a random Dalai Lama quote in comparison – the comments there don’t make you guys commenting here appear like Einsteins either.

PS: This picture, exclusively revealed by the folks at Metal Inquisition, shows Dave Mustang on his Mustaine.

Well Erich, you’re talking to a crowd here that’s composed of 10% Nerds, 70% Shitheads, and 30% Nihilists!

    THAT’S 125%!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  8. I only found the following information about this short film posted here – http://skateandannoy.com/2008/06/14/saturday-starrs-1-valley-punks-vs-the-surfer/

this Valley Punk film was made by the great film director Steve Soderberg, who before he moved on to making Hollywood films like OCEANS ELEVEN cut his teeth on surf and skate films.

I found it on Daniel Menches wonderful Blog…

  9. speaking about metal, isn´t it time for some metal uploads here on my favorite blog? How about that Hellhammer stuff you were writing about a few months ago to celebrate that Satanic Slaughter quit Celtic frost?

  10. Yeah Pär, that’s just what I thought today. But I won’t post that Hellhammer tape – it’s totally unspectacular anyway, only 30 seconds of a song called “Demon Entrails”. I was just about ripping the “Defender” 12″ by Manowar, but then I got scrupulous. I mean, Manowar ……

  11. Manowar were a great band as long as Ross the Boss still played with them! Not that many people seem to remember that these days. Into glory ride had some real epic songs and the Hail to England album is 10/10.

  12. Come a little closer, Pär, c’mon. Closer yet, yes, closer. Right – now, just a bit closer yet. Between you and I ……… I absolutely love the first four Manowar albums ……. “by moonlight, we ride, ten thousands side by side” ….. wonderful!

If you really start posting Manowar here I will never come back to GBM!

  14. Erich, I’m curious what industrial or other extremely out-there thing in your collection you’d post.

I’ve heard one Manowar album…dunno which, but it was old and gave me brain damage. And a bunch of crustys serenaded it to me…holding my hand and all.

    THE HORROR!!!

  16. Excellent site. One of my faves at the moment after 7inchpunk.

Sean, if you’re post something taken from other blogs you could at least provide a link back.

  17. That Metal Inquisition site is amazingly well written. It’s hysterical. I’m sure I’ll put a link to it, myself.

    Thanks for the tip!

I’ve been laughing out loud to MI for a few months now. When you read through, be sure to check out the super-funny tags. Some of the best posts (in my 39-yr. old and thankfully post-dreadlocked opinion) are listed under “Robb Flynn’s Disease.”

  19. Or the “sickle cell anaemia” tag, haha.
But the Body Count-outcoming (recent post) kinda disillusioned me. These guys are funny – but rap poseurs!

I forgot to thank you for this post Erich. It is still the funniest blog I’ve seen so far, and even if I don’t care about metal I can’t stop reading Metal Inquisition and checking out the videos and mp3s.
