Some changes: User registration, Promos and more
I have to announce some major changes concerning the modus operandi of Good Bad Music:
1. From now on, you can become a Registered User of Good Bad Music (to register and log in in the future, scroll down the left column until you see the “Meta” section. You will also find a link for registration here). Only as a Registered User, you will be able to download future live and demo recordings. With a profile of your own, it will be easier for others to contact you directly, your comments are personalized and identificable and so forth. Sooner or later, all soundfiles might be available to Registered Users only.
I will shortly post a personal summary of my two years of blogging experience that will give some insight in what led to this change of my blog’s concept.
2. The blog will continue to be free from commercial advertisements (you wouldn’t believe how many requests for adds I’m getting). Once a year, I will call for donations in order to raise funds for the webspace that costs me ca. 12$ or something a month. That means the community of users finance this blog (or don’t).
3. I also changed my policies towards promos: If you play, distribute or release Music that might fit the aesthetical concept of Good Bad Music, feel free to send it in for review (use the “Contact” button in the left column).
I will however not and never consider email promos (with mp3 files and such)! Like always, such mail gets trashed before read. Promos must be sent in as either vinyl, CD or cassette. Every review will include one or two mp3 files, selected and ripped by me. If you don not want that, then don’t send in anything.
4. In the future, you can read full length band interviews and (hopefully) articles on Good Bad Music. I would love very much to further examine the various aspects of “extreme” Music such as the history of it, the various concepts, the aethetical and ideological aspects of “extreme music” as a form of cultural practice etc. etc. (you name it!).
If you think you have to something to say, please feel free to contact me. The first two interviews will be with Rob from AMEBIX and Nic Bullen, formerly of NAPALM DEATH, SCORN etc.)

Fuckshitupism deluxe.

It’s all good but why the change dude? I’m curious as to why because I use wordpress and maybe this might help keep people from just downloading and moving on.
I signed up with the user name mustard, got the password, signed in and got this error, “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”. ??? Thanx for your time.

Mustard: No worries, it’s more of a personal thing. No security issues or something.
Don’t know why you’re having log-in trouble. Maybe you first need to log off from your own wordpress account?

That’s weird. Maybe some of the more literate in matters such as wordpress and computers can help?
No worries, Smodeski – I’ll soon post the first promo and although it’s “new school” (damn, how I hate the term!) HC, I liked it very well!

No problems here.
But the lay-out of your blog has gone wild at this very moment (for me at least).
Looking forward to your ‘insight’ concerning these changes.
You shouldn’t dismiss the commercial element. It could provide the means to bring your blog on a higher level and maybe in the future you can do more substantial things with – for instance – bands like Amebix.
Accessibility is the keyword for me.

This is such a great site, probably I’ll be sending you my band’s demo pretty soon.

No problems, registered and logged in fine. Looking forward to read Amebix int, assume it will be a new one by yours truly (as opposed to an old interview).

I’d rather have more posts of shit from your collection as opposed to a bunch of reviews of new shit sent in by people looking for your approval.

No worries, Gamma: I’ll keep mainly posting stuff from my own collection, but I thought it’d be a good idea to throw in a good new band every now and then. I don’t think I’ll be getting a lot of stuff sent in to be reviewed anyway. I just thought it was about to change some things before it gets too boring.

Admin, do you have old fanzines? It would be nice to read reviews or scans of fanzines like PearDrop and stuff.
Excuse me my bad english,
