AC/DC never sounded or drew anything from punk music.Their a good old fashioned Rock n'Roll band,nor where they redneck,redneck shit is like Lnyard Skynard and all your other pathetic American bands.All the greatest bands have been British or have been heavily influenced by british groups The Beatles,Rolling Stones,Cream,The Kinks,The Who,Led Zeppelin,Black Sabbath,Motorhead and on and on.... and AC/DC are no exception,after all 3 of them were born in Scotland (where i live) as for Bon well he was and always will be one of the greatest frontmen Rock has ever seen,and we can only wonder how AC/DC would have went on to become had Bon not passed away.But you have to give brian Johnstone maximum respect,he knew he had a tough act to follow,and always said he could never be Bon,but he has been as good a replacment as they could have hoped for,and they still kick ass to this day!! On the subject of Australian Bands,i think out of all the groups around today i think The Vines are one of Best Bands in the world,wish they'd get their ass over to the uk soon,as their top of my list of bands to see b4 i die.Oh and on the subject of american music,Jimi Hendrix made his name in 60's London,where he was loved & respected by all,but was widely disliked by american audiances,it wasnt till after Woodstock & his untimely death that americans got his music!! Another band that got lucky with a replacement singer was Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickerson was probably a better singer than Paul D'anno. I recently posted the Easybeats and my favorite story is that toddling Angus Young was trampled by a mob of screaming girlfans when his dad's address was leaked to the press. Anyhoo, cheers to Bonny!
