Lucky enough to have grown up in PI's hometown. My first intro to PI was also my first intro to hardcore. My friend was the second guitarist in Lockjaw. He took me to a Lockjaw rehearsal at the PI house. Both bands ripping in the basement. After much drinking, we loaded into Jerry A's huge cadillac (or similar) and went into town so he could scare people. The best part was that I was just a stupid kid and PI didn't even steal my beer.

erich's copy is a first press and the first press came with b/w sleeves, numbered out of 1000, with a different backcover than the following pressings. there were four pressings in total. aside of the first pressing i also have a signed copy (pig and jerry, numbered out of 80) of the fourth press, and that one has a blue ring - which the 2nd and 3rd pressing might have had, too.

Everything on this list is absolutely perfect. Poison Idea, Death (I haven't heard that one since '86 or so)...the only thing missing--well, maybe the only thing I can think of at the moment--is the Beatie Boys Pollywog Stew ep. That was great hardcore during the early days of my punk-inductment (is that even a word? I don't think so). Anyway, thanks for the memories.

My first exposure to Poison Idea, I believe was via various compilations and some old skate video. Was always very fond of the tracks on Cleanse the Bacteria but don't remember if they were off the first lp or not. The only release I had ever owned was the War All The Time album on cassette. I can't remember where I ordered it from (Alchemy Records perhaps??) but when I got it in the mail there was a thank you letter, about 10 dollars worth of stickers and another tape which was a compilation with Clown Alley, Sacrilege, Neurosis and a bunch of other bands.
It was so much fun ordering records back then because it felt so much more personal and exciting to get this kind of stuff. I ended up with quite a few pen pals just by ordering a few records here and there.

These days it seems so distant and cold....I spent 200 dollars on records a month ago and somehow, a paypal receipt with thanks scribbled on it and two records missing, feels exactly the same as an Amazon Marketplace purchase for a bookcase without two shelves.

Anyway looks I hafta save up for the Taang site, though I don't plan on dropping 125 for the Getting The Fear lp.
