THE ABUSED‘s one and only offically released record, this 8 song 7″EP, is one of those mysterious little gems that passed nearly un-noticed when first released, but turned out to be one milestone in HC. I’m pretty sure you all at least have heard of it or own a bootleg version of it; this is however a rip from the original and it goes out to those who never cared to check it out, due to the straight edge and youth crew thing this has become so closely associated with.
In all these years, the thick sound of this 7″ never has failed to run me shivers down my spine. I dunno, however beaten to death this may be, ABUSED stil shred. Great from alpha to omega, but “Nuclear Threat” must be my fave pick here. You hardly can do that kind of music better. And then, when you watch the backcover photo closely, you’ll notice the cigarette the guy at the left is holding and you know, this IS a masterpiece. Now go and have a beer or a bottle of red wine (like I just did).

Well, speaking about old bands..I recommend you to hear DESTROY L.A., young guys though, they are playing so fukking authentic, if you would give me their stuff recorded on shitty tape before I´ve heard it before, I´d write “DESTROY L.A.” demo 1981 on the cover. Brilliant WASTED YOUTH, ANTI or CIRCLE ONE worship….

I think it is a chocolate flavored Swisher Sweet. These were allowed in some SExHC circles due to their mellow deliciousness. The smell of one on fire makes you long for a slice of cake and an evening in the “pit”. Loud and clear!

Just want to add a bit pressing trivia here.
I purchase not long ago a copy here in NYC, th label in the record are switched in the sides.
I never heard of another copy with such pressing mistake.

The original printing of the disk has the labels reversed….those are the only originals the labels are backward and there is a one sheet 2 sided lyric sheet . I here these guys are playing in ST Louis in April 2010. The Best Hardcore Unit Ever!!!! The Abused NYHC
