I’m in Victoria now as I was then. Yeah, of course it’s John of NMN. Alandhiscar was the label name he used back when he still lived in mom’s basement. The amazing thing about the Neos was that they were all 13 and 14 years old and were still short. And they had really elaborate inserts. I remember one that explained how to play guitar – start by removing the E string, etc.

Is John Wright, Rob’s younger brother, the drummer of the NEOS?
On the back cover of this EP is a picture of the band and the glassed guy looks a lot like John.

Was just in Victoria this past weekend, buying Tysondog and Beat LPs, drinking local microbrews and watching the Sadies. Anyways, saw flyers for a show next month featuring a bunch of reunited Victoria punk bands, including post-Neos thrashers Jerk Ward, marking the release of a book/double CD set documenting the history of Victoria punk circa ’77-’85.

Thanks Erich! The “Hassibah” EP was/is one of my all-time faves, but I never got hold of (recordings of) this one, apart from 1 or 2 tracks on comp tapes.

yeah, when I was younger, NEOS used to be my favourite band, especially their 2nd EP. My first contact with them was, when Jan AG sent me tape with both NEOS EPs and a lot of obscure 80Â´s HardCore bands. My last meeting was, when I bought NEOS bootleg LP with both EPs on FRAMTID show in Czech, couple weeks ago.
