Repost from August 2nd 2006. Freshly ripped for the many new visitors who might have missed this classic 7″ the first time ’round.
If you knew how long Peter from the great and essential Killed By Death Records site and I struggled about who would post this pearl first …… Although we both know that this isn’t exactly obscure, but I think there’s a fair chance of still not everybody knowing this.
I’m not going to tell long stories about NEON HEARTS. It’s the band with the best 7″ from 1977, period. They also had an LP (“Popular Music”) which is quite good, but nothing compares to the fury and the madness of these 2 songs. If there was rock’n'roll justice, the guys from NEON HEARTS would be billionairs for what they achieved with these 2 songs here. And yes – you get the full 7″ here. Enjoy!!

I’ll agree…
Thanx for posting this clssic. Had this one 15 years ago. Great 8″ sleeve that never fitted in my singleboxes. Too bad they couldn’t keep the same standard on Popukar music 7″ and LP, although that was a pretty good tune as well. Nice that you & KBD & others are putting out the old punk classics so I can re-collect my now sold collection on my mp3-player.

Cheers Senap!
You’re right, the 2nd 7″ / LP has its moments and would shine even brighter – if it wasn’t overshadowed by this 7″!
When you look at the rumpled sleeve that I scanned, you can see that the others owners and I have had problems with that supergreat 8″ sleeve too.

A better use of sax than X-Ray Spex. If I’m not mistaken this also pre-Killing Joke Paul Raven…?

Had never heard this band before, but it rocks! I’m not much of a fan of saxophones in punk, but this is cool. As was mentioned earlier, this has some massive drive to it.

This saved my day!

By the way, Paul Raven is said to be the son of… Gary Glitter!! Don’t know if the legend is true, anyway.
Overground reissued the LP plus the Answers and Venus 45s in 2002 (OVER 94VPCD), I found it last year, so possibly it’s still available.

Paul Raven is NOT the son of that arsehole Gary Glitter, but ‘Paul Raven’ was the stage name used by Glitter in the ’60′s.
