E-13- No Mercy for Swine 7"EP (Fatal Erection Records, USA, 1984)

If there would be justice in rock’n'roll …. but unfortunatly, E-13 (or the label, run by POISON IDEA members Jerry and Pig) decided to print a mere 300 copies of this smoking EP and even among HC enthusiasts, this babe remains quite unknown. On the other hand, this allowed the label to stamp print the one, and hand draw the other label – and I love that kinda shit.
Wild, aggressive and blazing HC, reminiscent of bands like HATED YOUTH, WILLFUL NEGLECT or ROACH MOTEL – but with a weird, comedy-like edge to it, E-13 are a standout! “Misguided Missle [sic!] Mouth” is the killer track here. Although the record wasn’t released until early summer in 1984, it sounds like a 1982 monster still.
Due to the lrics, image and the great cover art (the inside of the foldout sleeve is in the same tasty vein as the golden shower back phto), this band was quite controversial. I remember having one extra copy of this for trade – but nobody wanted it until I sold it on eBay in the early days. It went for 28$. Well.

Dressed for the H-bomb had this a while back, but the links have expired and the rips didn’t sound too good.

Sweet. If you’ll recall the one I posted was from a crap bootleg (CD) so I’ll be happy to get some better sounding versions. Seems like lots of people don’t remember this one even with the Poison Idea connection (including me until recently). I wonder if the people you know now wonder why they didn’t take you up on that trade?

    I don’t know, I’m just not feelin’
    it. Wimpy production leaves it
    lacking IMO.

Er, I wouldn’t exactly call the picture on the back sleeve a golden shower- looks more like a big “scheisser”.

Kelp Bed – greatest drummer I ever saw. E-13 were Eugene’s only great hardcore band, and as such made up for the lack of others. Classic.
