V/A – JISATSU OMNIBUS- 8" Comp. EP (Jisatsu Records, Japan, 1984)

JapComp_frontJapCompbackTotally classic but sort of unknown Japanese comp. Released on the lovely 8″ size and featuring hit after hit from SEXUAL, CONFUSE, ZIGA (written in japanese letters) and M-78.
You’ll get the regular japanese dose of brutal, melancholic, sometimes metallic thrash. SEXUAL had one or two flexis, CONFUSE are among the most popular japanese bands (I’ve had the bands debut here already – check the search function) and ZIGA and M-78 are unknown to me, besides these fine tracks here. Check M-78′s guitar solo at the end of the song – incredible, total GASTUNK style! You will probably know the CONFUSE songs from the german “Atrocious Madness” Bootleg 7″, btw.

There was a follow-up to this, on Hold-up Omnibus Records, in 8″ size as well, with live recordings of SYSTEMATIC DEATH, GHOUL and others, but it’s nowhere near the quality of this collectible babe.

CONFUSE: Atrocious Madness.mp3

Funny you should mention M-78′s Gastunk-like guitar work! M-78 was a side project featuring members of Ghoul, Gas, Systematic Death, and (surprise, surprise) Gastunk.

Ziga did a 3-track flexi on the same label prior to this comp.

Heard of that flexi many times, but never saw it. Does it really exist?

Got it on tape so it does exist. It was the 3rd release on Jisatsu (after the 2 Gas flexis). I think this flexi is also featured on one of those Order Of The Kite boot CD’s. Don’t own these so I’m not sure.

Does anyone know the name of the record that the picture of the grinning fellow is originally from? I actually saw that record in person one time, I remember it was a gatefold and had a full body shot of the guy, but never thought to catch the name… stupid of me.

regarding the ZIGA 7″ flexi :
it’s a 3-track flexi, on the Jisatsu label as ‘curious guy’ stated earlier (jisatsu 003). Titles being : kabe/I love me/genzitsu

P.s.: it’s NOT on one of the “order of the kite” comp. cd’s

    cheers,
    Renaat.

If someone will post a clear jpg of the the M-78 title, I’ll attempt to give a transliteration or translation. No guarantees.

The Sexual are by far my favorite japcore band.
I found their complete discograhy thru torrents a year or two ago.
I burned it at my friends house so, I dont have all of the song names. Thanx for naming two tracks for me.

  15. great comp. a total classic & a staple of my collection for years…

you stated that “Hold-Up Omnibus” was a follow up to this. thats incorrect. Hold-Up was released before this Jitsatsu 8″, and there is no connection between the 2 labels. the Jitsatsu label was run by members of Gas(later releases were a flexi by Aka,a split 8″ by Gas & Nikudan, and a 12″45 by Gas) while the Hold-Up label was originally started by a member of Systematic Death & a member of Lip Cream; and eventually was given over to/operated by Max of Ghoul.
