EU’S ARSE- Lo statto ha bisogno di te? Bene, fotillo 7"EP (Nuovo Fahrenheit, Italy, 1982)
Italian Punk veterans EU’S ARSE had two vinyl smashers: This one plus the tracks on the split with IMPACT.
What always attracted me was the singers vocals: sounding like Micky Mouse losing his voice when screaming. Totally great and charming. Sure, it’s not like a total classic, but still worth all the attention it gets, being one of the most original LC (Low-Fi Core) records. “Io non saro colpevole” is the hit here.
The name EU’S ARSE expresses a form of a certain nationalistic affront in which Italy is seen as the arse of the E.U. (European Union). Well.
My vinyl plays noisy, but from what I’ve heard of others, this is due to the poor vinyl used.

It’s curious that back in those years we used to say the same about Spain: “África empieza en los Pirineos” (Africa begins in the Pyrennées, i.e. the mountains which are like a natural wall separing Spain from Europe).
