This is a s close as it gets sounding like early MISFITS! Very great albeit totally unoriginal speedy Punk with that special goofy horror taste. My faves would be “Dawn of the Dead” with some killer organ sounds, the hardcore-ish “Fighting chance” and “Addiction”. And “Laser Lights” is great for having a very bizarre mixture of Punk, 50ies Sci-Fi-movies sounds and a country & western guitar solo. MOURNING NOISE prove that you don’t have to be original to be good (though it helps).
The band also had one or two tracks on “Hardcore takes over”, a hard to find live comp. LP of which I, unfortunately, only have the 2nd volume. Anybody cares to rip vol. 1?
This is rumored to be featuring an ex-MISFITS member. Fact is, it has Bobby Steele doing some “special effects” and that’s it. With drummer Steve zing it however features a future SAMHAIN member.

Will post complete cover photos soon.
Told you gals about this before and received numerous requests, so here we go: Hardcore Thrash over Hardcore Thrash on this Bootleg LP compilation (500 made). That “Ban Ivory – save the elephant” tag is sweet ain’t it.
ASOCIAL never were better than on this demo, but it’s actually a pisstake from 1984 on thrash bands, haha. I think it was originally entitled “Hardcore Holocaust”. MOB 47 deliver some demo tracks, ANTI-CIMEX songs taken from “Anarkist Attack” and that “Helvete” comp LP on Rosa Hornung and BEDRÖVLERZ’s songs come from the band demo. Some say ths band also had a 7″ but that is a filthy lie.
ANTI-CIMEX tracks were ommited. Check for the “Anarkist Attack” 7″ on this blog and get much better sound. Same goes for MOB 47’s “Religion” song.

Repost from August 1st 2006. I keep getting so many requests to upload this again – so here we go!
Porno-Pop, it says on the label and indeed it was the porn-approach that made this one of the most controversial Punk releases from Germany. Due to the backcover art (which for todays standards seems rather dull), KFC had gotten a lot of shit, as it seems (read: “Verschwende Deine Jugend”, dunno if this has yet been translated. Read it as the german answer to “Please kill me”).
“Kriminal Pogo” which is featured here, is however one of the best songs from the 1980s that I have ever heard! It’s simple, catchy and very tight (listen to the bass- and drumsound – AWESOME!!) and it has a drive that is almost brutal in its relentlessness. The flip, “Sexmörder”, is great too, though it reaches only 90% of the greatness of the A-side.
KFC (Kriminalitäts-Förderungs-Club – “Criminality encouragement club”, hahaha) had a couple of other releases from which the first LP “Letzte Hoffnung” stands out. It’s, unlike this gem here, a very dark and melancholic epic and definitely a must-have! The tracks on “In die Zukunft” are nice too.

PS: These rips were made with my old equipment. You will notice the difference, unfortunately.

cover scans currently down The least known of the three VATICAN COMMANDOS releases – and easily the best! “Point me to the End”, “What can you do” and the stuttering poem “What a Day” are the standouts here, but the whole record has one helluva gloomy atmosphere. This needs to be reissued badly!
The VATICAN COMMANDOS formed in Connecticut in 1982, had their first 7″, “Hit Squad for God” in 1983, followed by “Just a Frisbee” the same year. V.C. were also on the “Big City”, “Method to our Madness”, “Connecticut Fun” comp Lps (and maybe more) and that nifty “Make it work” 7″ comp, plus a tape comp of which I forgot the title.
Yepp, we all know it by now – the band’s guitarist went on to become a superstar under the name of Moby.
I used to have a very nice original V.C. T-Shirt I bought in San Francisco, but I can’t find it anymore.
And on a side note: I think I’ve never heard a record with so much background noise before. Not that it would be popping and clicking – there’s a strange kinda vibrating noise coming from the vinyl, I think. Weird. Guess it was a cheap mastering and / or pressing.

Totally classic but sort of unknown Japanese comp. Released on the lovely 8″ size and featuring hit after hit from SEXUAL, CONFUSE, ZIGA (written in japanese letters) and M-78.
You’ll get the regular japanese dose of brutal, melancholic, sometimes metallic thrash. SEXUAL had one or two flexis, CONFUSE are among the most popular japanese bands (I’ve had the bands debut here already – check the search function) and ZIGA and M-78 are unknown to me, besides these fine tracks here. Check M-78’s guitar solo at the end of the song – incredible, total GASTUNK style! You will probably know the CONFUSE songs from the german “Atrocious Madness” Bootleg 7″, btw.
There was a follow-up to this, on Hold-up Omnibus Records, in 8″ size as well, with live recordings of SYSTEMATIC DEATH, GHOUL and others, but it’s nowhere near the quality of this collectible babe.

There’s currently an INFEST MLP being sold on ebay of which the seller claims it’s a first press. Well, it’s not. It’s the first press cover minus the poster and a 2nd press two-colored vinyl version. I’ve contacted the seller after I received a few emails asking about the authencity of the item, and I got some bullshit back. So do yourself a favour and don’t bid.
PS: Well, some poor sould paid 330$ for this. Sad, really.

I remember oh too well when I “accidentally” bought this 7″ way back when I saw it in a record shop, cause I thought it was the NY band. I found it horrible.
It wasn’t until the late 90s when I re-discovered, or finally discovered THE MOB from the UK. It was the bands enourmously enigmatic and through and through wonderful “Let the Tribe increase” LP which blew me away like few records did at that time. The songs are all melancholic, with a heavy dark wave, post punk twist – i n fact, some of THE MOB’s material could hardly be called “Punk” if Punk is, say, Anti-Pasti or Exploited. You will surely find like me that THE MOB sound very similiar yet very different like bands in the vein of ZOUNDS, EMBARASSMENT, NUCLEAR SOCKETTS or maybe a worn out, fuzzy version of WIRE even. Extremely impressive, totally original and definately a band that you ought to love to love.
Maybe SwePete can fill us in with some background as he currently reads “The Day the Country died” which will, as I reckon, have more on THE MOB? And: Are all copies of this with white, blank labels? Has this stuff ever been reissued other than on the greek bootleg LP?
First off, I’ll post the 2nd 7″, “Witch Hunt”:

As you will probably have heard, the autonomous youth center “Ungdomshuset” in Kopenhagen / Denmark got evicted last week and is now being destroyed on behalf of the buildings new owners, a group of christian fundamentalists.
To my own surprise, the heavy media coverage of the massive riots from the weekend evoked a bit of nostalgic feelings. As ridiculous I find people dressing up as „Punks“ in 2007 and as much I turned away from left radicalism in the past 10 years of my life, I cannot but realize that youth centers and the whole „autonomous“ thing used to mean much to me when I was young. So here goes my hat off.
ENOLA GAY were Denmark’s finest and they gained popularity for being on Pusheads „Cleanse the Bacteria“ comp with some songs from this demo. Very quirky, lively and forceful HC at ist best. „Grav et hul“, „Destruktive hjerner“ and „Enola Gay“ are tiny classics.
This demo tape would be an obscure collectors piece if it wasn’t for Germany’s number one bootleg label “Lost & Found” who pressed it onto vinyl in 1991. The vinyl sounds superb and in a way or another, we must all thank Mr. Granz for this.
The tracklisting for the B-Side shows 5 titles but I only found them to be 4. Somebody knows more?

Italian Punk veterans EU’S ARSE had two vinyl smashers: This one plus the tracks on the split with IMPACT.
What always attracted me was the singers vocals: sounding like Micky Mouse losing his voice when screaming. Totally great and charming. Sure, it’s not like a total classic, but still worth all the attention it gets, being one of the most original LC (Low-Fi Core) records. “Io non saro colpevole” is the hit here.
The name EU’S ARSE expresses a form of a certain nationalistic affront in which Italy is seen as the arse of the E.U. (European Union). Well.
My vinyl plays noisy, but from what I’ve heard of others, this is due to the poor vinyl used.
