cover scans currently unavailable REBEL TRUTH still might be unheard of to some, so despite all the bootlegs and a Grand Theft Audio CD release, it’s still mandatory to post this.
Dry-to-the-bone sound! This is what first amazed me about this 7″! Actually a little equalizing would help here to add some mids, but it’s kinda too late. On the other hand, this little flaw shapes an otherwise perfect 7″. Did you notice the double vocals? Amazing!! Wonderful!!
There’s one of them ugly MySpace sites of REBEL TRUTH. It has a bio worth reading.

Postclitum: In “Child hosts the Parasite”, you’ll notice a short lead passage towards the end of the song. It sounds like it was taken from “Inferno” by BLITZKRIEG (NWOBHM band).

Thank you anonymous, but one day, we all shall go.

whats the story behind the non coloured in circle vs. the coloured circle (red)?
my copy is coloured in and i heard this was done by hand by the band…any truth?

can’t get “good life”

This sounds like early Bad Religion to me. Agree with the comment above about the missing track.

Haven’t seen a handcolored cover version, but my copy has a handcolored pvc sticker of the logo.

Can’t hear one single note of early BR here though ….

One of the best and most original US HC 7″s ever released. Didn’t dare to post this since GTA have the CD out. But hopefully some spuds will pick the GTA CD up after hearing how great this is.

Its there man! If I were playing this on a stereo in front of you I could point out the exact spots. But it would be too goddam annoying to try to explain it here in text…so fuck it! Its a great 45.

Loads of Thanks for this one, since its
been unfindably missing and somewhat drowned into the unknown depths of my tape
archive for 15 years.
2 more missings:
- TSOL – Man & Machine EP
- Fang – Landshark 12 Inch
(kind of a shy request)

CD: Don’t have that TSOL reissue but I have the two originals from which the songs originate (12″ and “Weathered Statues”) – haven’t they been reissued in millions?
Sold the first FANG LP long time ago, unfortunately and only have “Where the wild things are”.

Thanx for posting this great EP, all I ever had were 4 tracks taped off a pirate radio broadcast back in 1984! My band back then (Gepopel) took the idea of doing back-and-forth vocals from these guys. I also love their track on “Not So Quiet…”, superfast and with a squeaky clean guitar sound! Another great band from Sacramento whose first LP I was lucky enough to find in the cut-out bins back then were Tales Of Terror (but, of course, sold it long ago… Anyone got it?)

You’re welcome Niels! Didn’t know it was RT who inspired you to do that kind of vocals. I think I’ll have to a GEPOPEL special one day – one of my top fave 7″ ever! and the split tape rules too.

now post Tales Of Terror.

Saw the bootleg verson of RT yesterday. The labels looked like the original at first sight, but the cover was in two pieces, thin paper, cheaply copied and with an additional logo of the bootlegers.

I assure you we had no idea who Blitzkrieg was and wouldn’t have been capable of any postmodern musical allusions if we did. Eternal thanks to everyone who enjoys the recordings.

Thanks for stopping by Erik! Just realized that my formulation seems to be suggesting that you “took” that riff from Blitzkrieg. Of course, that’s not what I wanted to say.

I definitely have compared this to early BR, I think its mostly in the vocal department but its more like early BR playing White Cross covers or something. Its a bit more hard and mean than BR could ever be.

goddamnet i didn’t know that was hear! these things just sneak up on me. already have it but wow.i’m stupid. the vocals do kind of sound like bad religion.
[Reply]
ha, i guess i didn’t have to put it up on my site.
