BOBBY SOXX- Christian Rat Attack Live Video!

Some friendly bloke sent me this link and I thought I had to share it. Isn’t it wonderful to see the handful of people performing bad New Wave dancing and the rather static band whereas I, at least, would have imagined some wild, out of control live situation?
Check out the man’s other videos – some nice stuff there and more Bobby Soxx! Now I only would love to see the microphone scene.

I remember when I first heard the ‘Cottage Cheese..’ comp LP, and Stickmen with Rayguns mangled my brain…

Great to see some film of Bobby Soxx floating around…

This was recorded at a club called Zero’s in Forth Worth, TX on June 21, 1980– I know this because it’s part of a 50 minute show by Bobby Soxx that I have on an old scratchy VHS tape (someone taped for me years ago). Clips from the show (in much better quality) have been making it to YouTube via one of the old band members lately. The show is pretty wild in some parts, like when an audience member walks right up to Bobby Soxx and spits in his face. I think Platinum Paul from the Skuds comes on stage at one point during the show, I’d have to watch the whole tape again.

Don’t remember where it was, but I think I saw somebody selling that video. Maybe, if we’re lucky, the man who put it up on youtube will publish the rest of it too one day.

Years after the fact a lot of those old Dallas/Ft Worth bands played a show. The line up included NCM, Ejectors, Teenage Queers, Bobby Soxx, etc. It was a very strange night seeing a lot those bands and people 15 years or so later. Bobby Soxx was still obnoxious. We definitely had a lot of fun, but I do not think I could stand watching those folks dance anymore.
