GAI- Extermination 7″ Flexi EP (Blue Jug Records, Japan, 1984)

gai_frontgai_backI remember very well how puzzled everybody was when this came out. Distortion to deafness, as Disorder said, but nobody ever came close to GAI. Mosquito-guitars, greatest vocals and never sounded a drum kit so damn good on this earth – the 6 songs on this Flexi Disc shred all their way through your head! “Blood spit Night” is a killer tune really, balancing between sillyness and brutality, whereas “Extermination” is without the slightest doubt the best song ever recorded in Japan.
Posthumously, there were 2 beautiful but musically rather weak GAI Lps issued in Japan, in a very little press run from what I heard though. It’s nice for the completists though the original GAI Demo Tape has even crazier stuff, but the Flexi is the release you’ve got to have.
The lads from GAI were also active as SWANKYS (and I think one of them was also in CONFUSE), released two 7″ers and another Flexi (if I counted right) plus an LP, entitled “The very best of Hero”. The 7″ material is great but the said LP just destroys them! Alone the newer version of “Blood spit Night” has got to be heard to be believed! Let me know if there’s a need for more of this fuzzed-out madness.

Ready? I mean: rrrrready???!

(I left off “Hate in the Memories”, not because it’s weaker than the rest, but you know why)
